EYA Townhome from the Movie “Syriana” Sells Above Asking Price

May 27, 2014 | by | 0 Comments
Harrison_Square

The 2005 hit movie “Syriana” featuring George Clooney was in a small part filmed in an EYA townhome. The living room, kitchen and front porch were all seen in the film as the home of Jeffrey Wright’s character. The townhome recently went on the market and with seven offers at or above asking price, sold well above its asking price of $1.125 million.

EYA’s Harrison Square community is located at 13th and V Streets NW, walking distance to local restaurants, shopping, and the U Street Metro. An entire city block was developed to seamlessly blend with the historic neighborhood, and ultimately was credited with sparking a renaissance of the U Street Corridor.

Arts District Hyattsville Retailers Move-In

March 21, 2011 | by | 2 Comments

In the coming weeks, the retailers at EYA’s Arts District Hyattsville neighborhood will open their doors.  Contractors are working daily inside the storefronts installing furniture, fixtures, equipment and more.  Soon serving the community are Busboys and Poets, Tara Thai, Chipotle, Elevation Burger, Yes! Organic Market, Royal Cleaners, Serenity Day Spa and Yogi Castle Frozen Yogurt.

Also recently installed: one of Hyattsville’s first green roofs!  The planting system eliminates stormwater runoff, provides additional building insulation and combats the heat island effect of urban neighborhoods.

More photos coming soon as the shops open next month.

Arts District Hyattsville named “Best Mixed Use Neighborhood”

October 26, 2010 | by | 0 Comments

EYA’s new townhome community at Arts District Hyattsville has again been named “Best Mixed Use Neighborhood” by the 2010 Great American Living Awards (GALA) Committee at a ceremony on October 21st.

The GALA competition is the DC building industry’s most prestigious awards event, in which architects, builders, and developers select the area’s best new home communities and home designs.

Arts District Hyattsville, since opening, has been recognized with 15 local and national awards for its smartly planned urban design, unique architecture, and onsite amenities – including a restored 1950’s automobile showroom which has been repurposed into the community’s clubhouse.

Anchoring the 25-acre neighborhood are art galleries, shops and restaurants, with popular local favorites opening Spring 2011:  Busboys and Poets, Tara Thai, Yes! Organic Market, Elevation Burger and Chipotle.

By providing onsite amenities and neighborhood retailers in the community, residents enjoy easy access to everything they need and love – all while spending less time in the car.  It’s a greener, more convenient, and more relaxing way to live.  It’s life within walking distance and smart city living.

Since its founding in 1992, EYA has won over 150 GALA Awards (some formerly the MAME and Monument Awards) and just last year was given the GALA Lifetime Achievement Award.  To learn more about EYA and Arts District Hyattsville, visit www.eya.com.

EYA Celebrates Alexandria Crossing Completion

July 30, 2010 | by | 0 Comments

Just nine months ago, EYA began sales and construction at Alexandria Crossing, a vibrant mixed-income community situated perfectly between The Shops of Shirlington along I-395 and The Shops of Potomac Yard along Route 1.

Today, new homeowners and renters enjoy the beautiful new neighborhood, featuring luxury townhomes, workforce condominium homes, and affordable rental homes – all designed with striking Old Town architectural details.

On Wednesday, July 28th, EYA welcomed new residents, Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority (ARHA), and Alexandria Mayor Bill Euille for a key exchange ceremony, in which participants received a ceremonial key to the community.  ARHA and the Mayor applauded the work of EYA and the public-private partnership that has made Alexandria Crossing possible.

The completion of construction at Alexandria Crossing coincides with the start of construction at Old Town Commons, another ARHA/EYA partnership.  Along Route 1 in historic Old Town, EYA is transforming five city blocks into another exciting EYA neighborhood within walking distance to Metro.  Modeled after EYA’s success at Capitol Quarter, Old Town Commons features new luxury townhomes with rooftop terrace, garage parking and some with rear yards.  The first homes are expected to be complete this Winter.  Learn more at www.eya.com/Old_Town_Commons.
