Described as “charming” and “vibrant”, writer Katarzyna Strycharz likened Mosaic District to New York’s hip SoHo and Chelsea neighborhoods. We agree! No where else will you find such an exciting collection of shopping, dining, entertainment, and boutique housing. Stop by for a visit!

Silver Spring (3)

A local Silver Spring favorite, Urban Butcher, re-opened this week after being closed since October. The popular butcher shop and restaurant is a “bohemian gathering place” known for its variety of meats. Their menu includes foie gras mousse with salty caramel, lamb tartare with Moroccan spices and many other unique, mouth-watering dishes.

Urban Butcher believes in partnering with neighboring farms and sustainable, humane farming. They are located at 8226 Georgia Avenue (corner of Georgia Ave. and Ripley St.). This, and many other acclaimed Silver Spring restaurants, are just moments away from EYA’s newest Silver Spring townhomes, Chelsea Heights. What’s New in Old Town

Move over King Street. Some of Old Town’s best new eateries are finding a home in the north end.

Five major residential communities in Old Town are driving the growth of new retail north of Wythe Street, nearer to Braddock Metro Station.

Harris Teeter has recently opened in the lower level of The Kingsley and offers an impressive selection of to-go meals as well as Express Lane service for those on the run.

In the 1111 Belle Pre building, Lost Dog Cafe has opened their fifth location, now in Old Town. The spot offers dine-in pizza, sandwiches and beer – along with takeout. Also in Belle Pre will be Sugar Shack Donuts, a Richmond-based bakery.

The Asher apartments will welcome Bastille Restaurant, which is relocating from their former home on N. Royal Street into their new space at 620 N. Fayette. Bistro Royal will be taking the former location on N. Royal.

And of course, EYA’s Old Town Commons townhouse neighborhood and The Oronoco Condo have spurred the growth of independent retail such as the much anticipated Mason Social modern American spot with full-bar, which will open shortly.
