Moments from Mosaic: Date Night at TRIO Grill

Living in Mosaic District, you don’t have to venture far to have a romantic night out. TRIO Grill, a modern American restaurant from the folks behind the CIRCA restaurants, embraces the art of the date night with excellent ambiance, an unbelievable menu ranging from the finest steaks to the freshest seafood, and an extensive beverage program run by a master mixologist. TRIO is located at 8100 Lee Highway, just moments from Mosaic District.

To prime you for your next special night out, we asked Aaron Rentfrew, General Manager and Sommelier at TRIO, to offer some standout menu items and wines:

  • Starting this fall, TRIO’s menu will play up its light items, debuting exciting entrees like marinated and grilled jumbo gulf Shrimp with Georgia stoneground grits, as well as a Fresh Seasonal Fig Salad. These newcomers join the likes of TRIO’s legendary Branzino.
  • Lighter items aside, TRIO is known as a place for steaks and chops. Try a New York Strip with the Pio Cesare l’Altro Chardonnay (Piedmont, Italy 2010), which is approachable and drinkable throughout dinner and pairs well with all kinds of meats, or the Buehler Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley, CA 2011), whose medium-high tannins and medium-full body suits red meats well.
  • Additionally, our ribeye and lamb both pair excellently with the Honig Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley, CA 2011). This vintage features estate-grown fruit with full body and full expression of the grape and solid tannins for nice fruit and oak flavors.

Think of TRIO Grill when you plan your next date (or any special night out with friends and loved ones). Stop by the Mosaic District sales center for a special voucher to use on your first visit to TRIO. See you there!

If there was any doubt that Mosaic has become Northern Virginia’s foodie hot spot, the Washington Post presents three more reasons to discover Mosaic.

In their Express article, writer Holley Simmons provides some “don’t miss” advice when visiting the community, which is just a 16-minute walk from Dunn Loring Metro station. Don’t want to make the walk? Fret not. Mosaic offers a Metro shuttle which runs every 12 minutes during rush hour.

If you’re thinking of making Mosaic “home”, hurry in. We have less than 20 townhomes remaining. Visit our model home and onsite sales center today, we’re open daily from 11 AM – 6 PM.

What’s it really like living in an EYA home? Washington Post contributor Katharine Salant recently spent 2 days living in our Aster Model Home at Mosaic District in Fairfax, VA to get a taste.

Not too surprisingly, the loft and rooftop terrace were determined to be a huge bonus, as they are with many of our homeowners.  Salant also noted that “Nearly as compelling as the Aster itself is the urban lifestyle that is part of the Mosaic District package…” With a free Metro shuttle and dozens of new onsite retail shops and restaurants, Mosaic District has become Fairfax’s hottest new destination neighborhood. Employee Spotlight: Adam Cetron, Sales Manager

March 12, 2014 | by | 1 Comment
Adam Cetron

This month’s Employee Spotlight is Adam Cetron. Adam has worked with many of our homeowners helping them find and purchase their new EYA home. He has been with EYA for over 17 years and recently was awarded The National’s Silver Award for “Sales Person of the Year” at the International Builder Show in Las Vegas.

Adam Cetron
Current Role: Sales Manager
At EYA for: 17+ years

What do you enjoy most about your current position at EYA?

I enjoy working with people from all walks of life. I have sold homes to singles, couples, families, extended families and even a few next generations of the same family!

What makes EYA unique or special compared to your work experiences elsewhere?

I used to build homes with my uncle in Vermont and as a laborer with other builders. I know EYA builds a better house then most other builders. I take pride knowing I work for a leader in our industry and I am selling value to our future home owners.

What do you enjoy most about helping people find their new home?

Watching the excitement during the building process that ends with them moving into one of our neighborhoods and seeing them enjoying their new lives.

Do you have any interesting home buyer experiences you can share?

My best experience was not the most expensive home I sold, or celebrities I sold to; it was selling a Moderately Priced Dwelling Unit (MPDU) at Fallsgrove.  After escaping from an abusive marriage, this single mother appreciated how EYA and our lender helped her afford a house that gave her and her young son a safe and wonderful place to live. She invited me to her house after settlement to show me how they had furnished the new home. It was quite heartwarming.

What is the best advice you would give when it comes to work?

My best advice is “don’t go to work.”  I love what I do, so I never work.  I have new adventures every day meeting different people and facing challenges constantly.  I am lucky to have a great wife and family that supports me and my career.  My other advice is to never take them for granted.

What is your favorite restaurant/coffee spot in the neighborhood where you are now working?

The last community where I worked was Mosaic District in Fairfax. It is very close to my house and where I grew up. I love how this urban, light industrial area has been transformed into a new town center. I think Matchbox, Angelika Film Center and Taylor Gourmet are my current favorite places there, along with Trio Grill just up the street.  Now that I am back at Old Town Commons, I love Firehook Bakery and King Street Blues.

What are your hobbies?

I play softball and listen to live music (especially at Wolf Trap) with friends, but love to go to antique car shows with my son in my ’73 American Motors AMX/Javelin.  I can also spend hours playing pinball.

What was the best vacation you ever took?

I was lucky to travel with my parents when I was young to Europe and loved to walk through the castles and gardens of England and France. But with the right people Las Vegas is nice too.

More Retailers Flock to Mosaic District

July 1, 2013 | by | 0 Comments

Mosaic District continues to heat up with new retail openings and announcements.

Alex and Ani Jewelry Store opened its doors June 14, offering a unique collection of eco-friendly accessories that adorn the body, enlighten the mind, and empower the spirit.

Designer Carolyn Rafaelian aims to incorporate deep symbolism in each piece so that the wearer can express their individuality. Through her work, Rafaelian hopes she can help others learn to value themselves and find positive energy from within, instead of always seeking energy externally.

In addition to the individual bangles, necklaces, earrings, and rings, the Rhode-Island based brand has various collections catered to specific groups. The collections range from the armed forces, described as heroic, patriotic, and selfless, to Graduation 2013, which reflects the ideas of adventure, success, and possibility. The inspiration behind these collections is to instill pride in each person for who they are, whether that be a recent graduate, a volunteer in the army, or a member of a national sorority.

And, it was just announced with much excitement, that True Food Kitchen will be coming to Mosaic District next summer. Focused on healthy foods, the restaurant aims to pair popular cuisine trends with nutrient-rich foods. The restaurant was developed in partnership with best-selling wellness author, Dr. Andrew Weil, who endorses an anti-inflammatory diet.

“You don’t have to be a die-hard Yogi to dine at True Food Kitchen” the True Food Kitchen website explains. “You need only a desire to give your body nutrients, and your palate something memorable.”

This will be the restaurant’s first East Coast location. True Food Kitchen joins Mosaic District’s hot dining scene, alongside Cava Mezze Grill, Cyclone Anaya’s, Dolcezza Gelato, Gypsy Soul, Le Pain Quotidien, Matchbox Vintage Pizza, Red Apron Butcher, sweetgreen, and Taylor Gourmet.
