The Maryland-National Capital Building Industry Association (MNCBIA) honored Arts District Hyattsville with a Green Building Award at their 2008 awards ceremony.

Industry leaders selected the neighborhood for recognition based on environmentally friendly land planning, onsite recycling efforts, use of green building materials, and the community's proximity to retail services and public transportation.
