This fall, students of Drew Elementary School arrived on their first day of school to see some exciting new changes. As a contribution to Mayor Adrian Fenty’s Buff-N-Scrub program, 35 EYA employees gathered on a sunny Saturday to plant landscaping, perform paint touchups, and make general repairs to the 50-year-old school building.

Local children stopped by to help paint the front doors and the D.C. Fire Department helped raise an 18-foot flag to serve as the welcome feature for the school. Special thanks go to Principal Kevin Bacon and Mayor Adrian Fenty for working with EYA to contribute in this special way.
