EYA Foundation proudly donated 23 backpacks filled with school supplies for kids-in-need to the Montgomery Housing Partnership (MHP). The children (who are ages 5-11) are enrolled in MHP’s after-school homework club in Silver Spring, MD. The homework club provides students a structured and supportive atmosphere for completing school assignments. Literacy specialists also provide small group instruction for children who require more in-depth assistance.
The Foundation purchased over $1,000 in supplies for the backpacks, which EYA staff members gathered to stuff. EYA regularly participates in an annual backpack drive in the summer and toy drive in the winter. Learn more about the Foundation’s additional activities here.
