The Bethesda restaurant and bar scene continues to flourish with a number of exciting new openings. Whether you’re looking for French food, a great pizza or a home-style Greek, you’ll find them all at these tasty new local eateries.

Kapnos Kouzina

Restauranteur Mike Isabella has finally made it to downtown Bethesda! Rustic Greek goes casual for guests of Kapnos Kouzina’s shareable feasts. The Bethesda hot spot features an open kitchen and has a tantalizing menu of beef souklaki, ground duck kebab and much more. Check it out for your next night out, or as a venue for private events. Tommy Joe’s New Location

Veterans of Montgomery County might have noticed a change in Tommy Joe’s location from the Bethesda Row area to nearby Woodmont Triangle. The rooftop bar took the spot previously held by Urban Heights. Loyal customers will still find a fun sports bar atmosphere in a great new venue! Map

Duck Duck Goose

If you’re looking for fine French fare in Woodmont Triangle, visit Duck Duck Goose across the street from the new Tommy Joe’s. Chef Ashish Alfred has created a small plate brasserie with a casually elegant dining room and outdoor patio seating. Hint: visit Duck Duck Goose during Happy Hour, weekdays 4 PM to 6 PM, for half priced special cocktails and small plates! Map

Fish Taco

The Wildwood Shopping Center on Old Georgetown Road just welcomed Fish Taco, a new taqueria with a casual beach-feel interior. Fish Taco offers a variety of seafood, meat and vegetarian options on its menu. Come for casual dining with the family or stop by with friends for a beer or frozen margarita! Map

Pi Pizzeria

Lovers of deep dish pizza look no further. If you’ve dined at the Pi Pizzeria in Penn Quarter then you are likely thrilled Pi has made it to downtown Bethesda! Just a short walk from Bethesda Row, Pi is the kind of place where beer aficionados eat pizza. For a new take on pizza, try ordering a pie with cornmeal crust! Map

Bought to you by the former owner of Union Jack’s, and to occupy the same bar space, is Tapp’d, a new taphouse emphasizing local and craft beers. The new bar will feature a more upscale feel than its predecessor and offers 40 beers on tap, over 100 bottles and a creative menu designed to pair perfectly with your beer of choice. Map

All these great new venues are just moments away from EYA’s newest Bethesda townhome communities Montgomery Row and Grosvenor Heights.
