Summer events coming to Reservoir District

We are excited to announce the launch of a summer event series coming to Reservoir District — a community-focused, family-friendly celebration of music, culture, history and more! This free seasonal event series will offer live performances, workout and wellness series, family fun days, and history tours — an engaging public programming lineup designed to bring neighbors and District residents together throughout the summer. Reservoir Recharge Wellness Weekends

Location: Outdoor lower level plaza or the park adjacent to the Reservoir Park Recreation Center

Breathe in the calm and recharge your spirit at Reservoir District's Recharge Wellness Series — a thoughtfully curated wellness experience designed to nourish the mind, body, and community. Held throughout the summer, this series offers free and varied programming such as guided yoga, meditation, HITT, mindful movement classes, and community walks led by local wellness practitioners.

To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all participants, each class will be limited to 30 guests. This allows our instructors to provide thoughtful guidance and helps maintain a peaceful, community-focused atmosphere.

July 12: R&B Slow Flow Yoga with Crystal Carson
July 26: Full Body Strength Training with SWEAT DC
August 9:  Mat Pilates with Four Pilates
August 23: Yoga with YMCA of Metropolitan Washington
September 13: Yoga with YMCA of Metropolitan Washington
September 27: Sound Bath Immersion with Ascent Mind and Body Co
October 11: Full Body Strength Training with SWEAT DC

Soulful Sundays Outdoor Concert Series

Location: Outdoor lower level plaza at the Reservoir Park Recreation Center

Ease into your week with Soulful Sundays — a curated, monthly experience at the Reservoir District that blends laid-back vibes, smooth sounds, and community connection. Featuring live music from local soul, jazz, and R&B artists, Soulful Sundays offer the perfect soundtrack for a relaxing afternoon.

Bring a blanket and a picnic and soak in the rhythm of the Reservoir District with family, friends, and neighbors. It’s the soul of the city — slowed down.

The following Sundays from 1-3pm (weather permitting):



  • July 27 - Tobago Bay Calypso Trio, Calypso band featuring music from the Caribbean and the sound of steel drums
  • August 24 - The Peoples Project, collective led by pianist/arranger/composer Ashlei Peoples, the group fuses gospel, R&B, and jazz with a modern edge
  • September 14 - Adrian Duke, piano player/singer/songwriter in the New Orleans musical tradition


Reservoir Recess: Family Field Day

When: Saturday, August 2 (weather permitting)

 In the park adjacent to the Reservoir Park Recreation Center

Join us for a lively and joy-filled afternoon designed with families in mind. Reservoir Recess brings together playful activities, music, and community connection. Enjoy field day style lawn games, arts and crafts, pop-up performances, walking history tour/scavenger hunt. The ultimate playdate for all.

End of Summer Ice Cream Social

When: Friday, September 19 (weather permitting)
Time: 5-7pm
Location: Lower Service Court

Join us for a sweet sendoff to summer at the Reservoir District’s End of Summer Ice Cream Social! Bring the whole family and beat the heat with complimentary scoops, tasty toppings, and good vibes as we celebrate the close of the sunny season.

History Walking Tour

Date and Time: TBD

Take part in a free public walking tour that explores the rich history of the Reservoir District and its unique legacy. The event will include local historians discussing the history of the site as the former McMillan Sand Filtration Site, use of the sand filtration silos and other historical aspects.

Reservoir District is a public-private partnership between the District of Columbia and Vision McMillan Partners, which includes EYA (townhomes), Jair Lynch Real Estate Partners (apartments and retail), and Trammell Crow Company (healthcare and retail). Mayor Bowser and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development led the development of the Reservoir Park Recreation Center and park space.
