Ditch your commute and start living life within walking distance in 2016! EYA homeowners report incredible savings on their commuting time and transportation costs. In fact, our [third-party study](https://www.eya.com/blog/study-measures-impacts-of-smart-growth-developments) with leading research firm RCLCO confirmed that EYA residents saved over $700 per year on automobile expenses and 28 hours per year over the average regional commute.

There are health benefits, too, for taking a shorter commute, according to a [Time Magazine](http://time.com/9912/10-things-your-commute-does-to-your-body/) study:

- Lower Blood Sugar
- Lower Cholesterol
- Lower Depression Risk
- Decreased Anxiety
- Increase in Happiness and Life Satisfaction
- Lower Blood Pressure
- Better Sleep

Discover a new townhome neighborhood in [Bethesda, Rockville or Silver Spring](https://www.eya.com/montgomery-county/) where shops, restaurants, fitness trails and transit are mere steps away. Make 2016 the year you resolve for a healthier, more relaxing lifestyle!
