    Partners on Project:

    EDENS

About the Project EDENS elected to partner with EYA because, over the past decade, EYA has developed specific expertise in building high-quality, architecturally distinct townhomes as key elements of larger mixed-use, retail communities.

The Cabin John Center is located on 25.3 acres in the northeast quadrant of Tuckerman Lane and Seven Locks Road. In the winter of 2016, EDENS acquired the shopping center and has planned to turn the dated 1950s-era shopping mall, into a pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use retail hub with 300,000 SF of retail and approximately 50 townhomes. The first phase intends to give the strip mall a facelift, construct two new standalone retail buildings near the intersection of Seven Locks Road and Tuckerman Lane, and incorporate new townhomes adjacent to the existing community.

EDENS elected to partner with EYA because, over the past decade, EYA has developed specific expertise in building high-quality, architecturally distinct townhomes as key elements of larger mixed-use, retail communities. National retail developers have elected to work with EYA because they recognize that pairing EYA’s residential product with carefully curated retail can be mutually beneficial for both uses. EYA’s distinctive residential communities confer a strong sense of place, community, and sophistication to adjacent retail uses, and conversely, proximity to high-quality retail makes EYA homes more attractive to buyers. Overall, the combination of high-quality homes and retail create a desirable mixed-use neighborhood where people want to shop, dine, recreate, and live. At the Cabin John Center, EYA will construct a residential component of the site including 48 high-quality townhomes.
