Bob Youngentob

Co-Founder & President/CCO

Bob Youngentob is the President and Chief Creative Officer of EYA and one of the founding Partners. EYA is a residential developer specializing in for-sale communities offering “life within walking distance®” and mixed income communities.  Mr. Youngentob’s responsibilities at EYA include overseeing corporate management, strategy and project development, while specializing in product and site visioning. He has over 28 years of real estate experience. He currently serves as the chair of the Washington D.C. District Council of the Urban Land Institute. He also serves on the Board of Advisors for The Universities at Shady Grove. Mr. Youngentob has been a guest lecturer on real estate at the Harvard Business School, Georgetown University, University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins University, and has spoken at numerous conferences sponsored by the Urban Land Institute and Builder Magazine. Mr. Youngentob grew up in the Washington D.C. area, graduated from Lehigh University, and received a MBA from the Harvard Business School..

Terry Eakin

Co-Founder & Chairman Emeritus

Terry Eakin is the Chairman Emeritus of EYA and one of the founding Partners. He serves as a trustee of the Federal City Council and Chairman of D.C. Prep Public Charter School. He has also served on numerous non-profit boards, including the D.C. Builders’ Association, Washington Hospital Center, NRH, and the Sidwell Friends School. Mr. Eakin grew up in the Washington D.C. area, earned a BSE Degree from Princeton University, and a MBA from Stanford University.

Finance

Frank Connors

Executive Vice President, CFO/COO and Partner

Frank Connors is an Executive Vice President, CFO/COO of EYA and a Partner. He has overseen finance, accounting, information systems, and corporate controller functions at EYA since 1992. Mr. Connors has over 20 years experience in corporate finance and accounting within the building industry. In 2010, Mr. Connors was awarded the CFO of the Year by the Washington Business Journal. Mr. Connors grew up in the Washington D.C. area, received a BS in Accounting from the University of South Carolina, and has successfully completed the Uniform Certified Public Accounting Exam and the University of Maryland’s Leadership Development Program. 

Milli Arakawa

Vice President, Finance and Accounting

Milli Arakawa is Vice President, Finance and Accounting of EYA. She provides leadership and coordination of financial planning, accounting and debt and equity financing for EYA, LLC and numerous affiliated entities. Prior to joining EYA, Ms. Arakawa worked at a public Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and also worked the audit practice of Ernst & Young. Ms. Arakawa graduated cum laude from the University of California Los Angeles, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Economics and a minor in accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Architecture

Gregory Shron

Vice President of Architecture

Gregory Shron is the Vice President of Architecture at EYA. Mr. Shron’s responsibilities include the coordination of design efforts for all EYA communities, the management of outside design consultants, the shepherding of architectural and historic approvals and the oversight of specifications and permits for each EYA project.  He has led the design process on more than 15 communities representing the development of over 2,000 residential units. Mr. Shron is a Trustee of the Jewish Primary Day School of the Nation’s Capital (JPDS), and serves on the Advisory Council, and is a former Chairman of, Rebuilding Together Montgomery County.  Mr. Shron grew up in Montreal, Quebec and Toronto, Ontario and holds Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Architecture degrees from McGill University. He is a registered architect in the State of Maryland and the Commonwealth of Virginia, holds a LEED AP Homes designation from the Green Building Certification Institute and is a member of the American Institute of Architects.

Construction

John Fahey

Senior Vice President of Construction Operations

John Fahey is the Senior Vice President of Construction Operations at EYA. His responsibilities include the management of all activities from product development, preconstruction, bidding/estimating to unit delivery and post settlement. Mr. Fahey has 34 years of experience in construction and real estate with expertise in the following markets; for sale, for rent and mixed use developments. Having put in place over $2.0 billion dollars of construction, Mr. Fahey possesses the knowledge and expertise to provide leadership in strategic areas of preconstruction, construction and warranty. Mr. Fahey grew up in California, holds a BA in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley and is a panelist for the American Arbitration Association.


Lorin Randall

Vice President of Construction and Warranty Service

Lorin Randall is the Vice President of Construction and Warranty Service at EYA. His core responsibilities include the management of all townhouse vertical construction activities and oversight of the EYA warranty service team. Previously Mr. Randall was the Vice President of Procurement at EYA for which his core responsibilities included the management of the budgeting, bidding and contracting process. Mr. Randall grew up in the Washington D.C. area and is an alumnus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University where he studied Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.

Human Resources

Lisa Montenegro

Vice President of Human Resources

Lisa Montenegro is the Vice President of Human Resources at EYA. She is responsible for developing the strategy and delivering programs in such areas as compensation and recognition, benefits, performance management, talent development, change management, organization development, executive coaching, recruitment, and employee relations. She works in partnership with the management team to design and implement strategies that support EYA's short and long-term business objectives. Ms. Montenegro brings a strong mix of both management and business expertise to this position. She has more than a decade of domestic and international human resources leadership experience in multiple industries including high-tech engineering, manufacturing, and the Defense & Intelligence industries. Ms. Montenegro is a native Washingtonian and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Maryland and Master of Art in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Baltimore. She also has her Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification.

Land Acquisition

Evan Goldman

Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development

Evan Goldman is Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development at EYA. He brings a decade of mixed-use and multi-family experience to the EYA development team and works on sourcing new deals as well as shepherding projects through the development process. Prior to joining EYA, Mr. Goldman was Vice President of Development at Federal Realty Investment Trust in Rockville, MD, where he was primarily responsible for managing the development of Pike & Rose. He holds an MBA in Real Estate and Finance from the Wharton Business School and a B.S. in Design and Environmental Analysis from Cornell University. Mr. Goldman regularly guest lectures at Cornell University, Georgetown University, the Catholic University and the University of Maryland College Park. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Urban Land Institute Washington and he was a founding Board Member of Friends of White Flint. Mr. Goldman recently received the 2012 Livable Communities Leadership Award from the Washington, DC based Coalition for Smarter Growth. He lives in Washington, DC with his wife and three young children. 

Brian Allan Jackson

Senior Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development and Partner

Brian Allan Jackson is Senior Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development and a Partner. He is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee as well as its Investment Committee. Mr. Jackson has a decade of experience working with public-sector organizations on real estate and public policy issues. Mr. Jackson is the acting President of the Maryland National Capital Building Industry Association (MNCBIA), and serves as Chairman of the Washington, DC Liaison Committee. In addition, he is a full member of the Urban Land Institute, where he serves on the Public Private Partnership Council and a member of the African-American Real Estate Professionals Association. Mr. Jackson has a BA in economics from the University of Alabama and an MBA with Distinction from the Harvard Business School. 

Jack Lester

Senior Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development

Jack Lester is a Senior Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development of EYA. His responsibilities include overseeing project development and site acquisition. Mr. Lester has over 20 years experience in real estate development and management. Mr. Lester received his BS in Economics and Finance from Alfred University in 1986, and his MBA from The Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina in 1992. Mr. Lester serves on the Board of the Washington Area Housing Trust Fund.

Jack McLaurin

Vice President of Planning and Design

Jack McLaurin is Vice President, Planning and Design at EYA. His experience with the company spans nearly two decades working on EYA’s most notable projects throughout the region as a former consultant to EYA while working at Lessard Design. Now a core member of EYA’s leadership team, Mr. McLaurin is responsible for creative and conceptual design in the land acquisition phase of projects. He holds a Bachelors of Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is a registered architect. Mr. McLaurin is NCARB-certified and also a Certified Green Professional through the National Association of Home Builders. He holds a Universal Design Certification from the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA). Mr. McLaurin frequently participates in the National Association of Home Builders, is past co-chair of the NAHB Design Education Subcommittee and is actively involved with the Northern Virginia Builders’ Industry Association and its GALA/Monument Awards Program.

McLean Quinn

Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development

McLean Quinn is a Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development at EYA. His responsibilities include new deal sourcing and acquisitions, entitlement and predevelopment, and overall project stewardship. McLean has led underwriting and negotiations for numerous projects at EYA and is currently leading the entitlement effort on three large residential redevelopments in Montgomery County, including EYA's Shady Grove Station redevelopment. McLean is active in ULI and is currently participating in the ULI Washington Regional Land Use Leadership Institute. Before joining EYA, McLean evaluated opportunistic real estate investments for Morgan Stanley's Real Estate Fund (MSREF) in New York and worked in private equity and investment banking at Wells Fargo in Charlotte, North Carolina. McLean has a BA in political science from Davidson College and an MBA with Distinction from the Kellogg School of Management, where he was an Austin Scholar. McLean and his wife, Evelyn, live in Northwest Washington, DC.


Aakash Thakkar

Senior Vice President of Acquisition and Development

Aakash Thakkar joined EYA in 2004 as a Development Executive and now is a Senior Vice President for Acquisition and Development with EYA. His responsibilities include overall project stewardship, new deal sourcing and acquisition, site selection, and project development through the design and governmental and community approval process. Mr. Thakkar is a member of and guest speaker for the Urban Land Institute and the District of Columbia Building Industry Association. He is a member of the Smart Growth Recognition Award Jury, the Riverdale Park Mixed-Use Town Center Committee, and of the Hyattsville CDC Board. He was a member of the Obama for American Mid-Atlantic Finance Committee and a co-founder (along with his wife) of the Thakkar/Giallourakis Scholarship Fund for St. John's College High School. Mr. Thakkar has a BS in Accounting and Political Science from LaSalle University and holds both an MBA and a Masters in City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University. Mr. Thakkar is a native Washingtonian.

Land Development

Wyndham Robertson

Senior Vice President of Land Development

Wyndham Robertson is the Senior Vice President of Land Development at EYA. His responsibilities include the management of all civil engineering, the development of land budgets and schedules, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of land development. He is also involved with corporate recruiting and legal issues involving land during acquisition. He has been responsible for the development of over 10,000 residential lots during his 25-year career in real estate. Mr. Robertson grew up in the Washington D.C. area, and holds a BA in Business/Economics from Randolph-Macon College. He has completed the University of Maryland’s Leadership Development Program.

Sales & Marketing

Preston Innerst

Vice President of Sales

Preston Innerst is the Vice President of Sales for EYA. He is responsible for overseeing all sales functions, including Customer Relations. Prior to holding this position, he served as Director of Marketing and Sr. Marketing Strategist for EYA. Mr. Innerst joined EYA in 2000, and has over 18 years of residential sales, marketing, and appraisal experience. He is a member of Washington Metropolitan Sales and Marketing Council (WMSMC), the Northern Virginia Building Association (NVBIA), and serves on the Board of Directors for Rebuilding Together Montgomery County. Mr. Innerst grew up in Philadelphia and holds a Bachelor of Arts from University of Maryland.

Cheryl Haar

Vice President of Marketing

Cheryl Haar is Vice President of Marketing at EYA where her responsibilities include brand development and marketing. With a strategic focus on positioning the EYA brand and its multiple properties, her work involves planning, budgeting, and management of the marketing team and agency resources, as well as oversight of digital, offline, and media assets. Prior to joining EYA, Cheryl led brand strategy initiatives at Grafik, a brand consulting firm based in Old Town Alexandria. Her clients included EYA, U.S. Census Bureau, Johns Hopkins University, and Booz Allen Hamilton. Cheryl received her MBA from the University of Denver.
