New hires enhance EYA’s expertise in multifamily development, mixed-use master planning, and public private partnerships.
As EYA, LLC (EYA) celebrates its 30th year as Washington’s leading developer of urban and transit-oriented properties, the company has expanded its commitment to multifamily development by adding Caren Garfield and Jim Reed to the team.
“We have completed numerous award-winning multifamily projects across the region, but never with a dedicated team,” said McLean Quinn, EYA President and CEO. “Our commitment to expanding our multifamily development expertise with these key hires is part of a long-term strategy to fully leverage our residential, mixed-use and marketing acumen and to maximize the potential of our rapidly growing multifamily pipeline, which currently includes more than 2,500 units. Our new team members will enable us to execute on multiple concurrent projects so we can continue to deliver unique communities with diverse housing options and neighborhoods where people want to live. Expanding and investing in the multifamily side of our business is a key component of our strategic growth plan.”
Caren Garfield joins EYA as VP of Multifamily Development. In this new role, Caren drives EYA’s multifamily business plan and leads multidisciplinary teams in all phases of entitlement, development, construction, and asset management. She previously served as Director of Multifamily Development at Kimco Realty Corporation.
Jim Reed, VP of Multifamily Construction, joins EYA from JBG Smith. During his career, he has had deep involvement in the design, permitting and construction of more than four thousand residential units, half a million square feet of retail, one million square feet of office space and related site development.
Since 1992, EYA’s development affiliates have built more than 6,000 homes including 1,500 multifamily units in more than 45 neighborhoods across the Washington metropolitan area, tackling some of the region’s most challenging sites along the way. With its unique combination of walkable neighborhoods, thoughtfully planned spaces, and timeless architecture, EYA has earned more residential and land-planning awards than any other homebuilder in the region.
