On Friday, October 24, 2014, EYA employees gathered for their annual Day of Service in Washington, DC. This year's recipient of giving was Byte Back, a DC-based non-profit which provides computer training and employment readiness classes to low-income individuals.

Bethesda, MD, Sept. 22, 2014 – EYA, a leading developer and builder of more than 4,000 Washington, D.C.-area homes in distinct urban-lifestyle neighborhoods, has received a Gold Award in the 2015 National Housing Quality (NHQ) Award® program. Modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the NHQ Award represents the housing industry’s highest recognition for achievements in total quality management. This award adds to the list of national recognition received by the local company, who has also won America’s Best Builder twice and the ULI Award of Excellence.

The Washington Post’s 2014 Top Workplaces have been released, and EYA is one of them! We ranked #5 out of the 80 small companies (50-150 employees) included on the list. The article mentions that our “employees enjoy a fun atmosphere” and commends our “charitable foundation, the EYA foundation” for its great contributions to the communities where we build. We would also like to congratulate our investment partners, JBG, for ranking #1 as the best large company to work for in the area!

The 2005 hit movie “Syriana” featuring George Clooney was in a small part filmed in an EYA townhome. The living room, kitchen and front porch were all seen in the film as the home of Jeffrey Wright’s character. The townhome recently went on the market and with seven offers at or above asking price, sold well above its asking price of $1.125 million.
