Clear your calendars for early June as the annual DC Jazz Festival brings various music stylings to a neighborhood near you. From June 1st through 10th, more than 100 jazz performances will fill the city with music. Concerts are scheduled to take place at a variety of locations, ranging from restaurants and hotels, to museums and clubs. Not only does the festival highlight famous musicians from around the world, it also introduces up-and-coming artists.

A unique feature of the DC Jazz Festival is that it hosts more than 80 performances that showcase DC-based groups in 21 neighborhoods around the city. Some of these concerts are ticketed, however many are free.

On June 2nd at 9 pm, the Charles Woods Quartet will be playing at Johnny's Half Shell on Capitol Hill, walking distance to EYA’s townhomes at Capitol Quarter. Later in the week, on the 6th and 7th, the Jazz Festival brings glorious music to the Children’s National Medical Center in Brookland, home to EYA community Chancellor's Row.
