About the Project Designed to seamlessly blend with the architecture of the surrounding community, Capital Quarter is a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly neighborhood just moments from the Navy Yard Metro, the Southeast Federal Center, and two of the city’s major league stadiums.

As a critical component of the HOPE IV redevelopment effort, it spans seven city blocks with a mix of 212 market-rate and workforce rowhomes, 25 subsidized for sale rowhomes, and 86 affordable rental units.

The overall redevelopment of the former Arthur Capper Carrollsburg public housing project delivered 1,650 residential units, 730,000 SF of office space, and more than 50,000 SF of retail. Completed in 2012, Capital Quarter served as a catalyst for the burgeoning community, and set a new standard for mixed-income development.
