We are excited to announce that The Townhomes at Graham Park has received the Award of Merit for Best Infill Site Plan Solution at the national Golden Nugget Awards. Now in its 60th year, the Golden Nugget Awards honor the industry's top architects, planners, builders and developers who improve communities through exceptional design, planning and development. Winners this year were chosen from over 600 entries.

The Townhomes at Graham Park are a model for how commercial retail owners and residential builders can work together to create next generation mixed-use neighborhoods. EYA purchased a portion of the land at the Graham Park Plaza shopping center from Federal Realty, and together they created a shared vision for the community with new townhomes adjacent to the revitalized retail shopping center.
The innovative site planning provided increased connectivity between the homes and retail by connecting the street network between them and improving pedestrian/vehicular access for increased safety and walkability. The updated retail shops and new townhomes were designed with a complementary color palette, resulting in a community with an integrated feel and architecturally rich, cohesive design.
Once complete, the community will feature 150 new market rate townhomes with 2-5 bedrooms priced from the mid $600s, 22 affordable dwelling units with 3 bedrooms (soon to be available through Fairfax County and anticipated to be priced from the mid $200s), large central park, outdoor pavilion and children's playground, all just steps to the revitalized retail shopping center. Not only is this community a new mixed-use neighborhood, but the varied price points ensure that it will also truly be a mixed-income community as well.
