The second annual summer events series is kicking off at Reservoir District! These community-focused, family-friendly events celebrate music, culture, wellness and more. Events are free to the public and designed to bring neighbors and District residents together to enjoy the park and outdoor spaces at Reservoir District. Reservoir Recharge Wellness Weekends
Location: The park or outdoor lower level plaza adjacent to the Reservoir Park Recreation Center
This series of wellness events offers a lineup of free community activities curated by Whitney Stringer Wellness Events. From Pilates to yoga and family dance parties to mindful meditation, the series is designed to encourage self-care, promote healthy lifestyles and support neighborly connections. Led by small businesses, non-profits and emerging local health and wellness professionals, these activities will offer something for everyone.
While the events are free, registration is required to attend. Save the dates and registration links for each event will be coming soon.

June 7 - Pilates, Four Pilates
June 21 - Yoga, Silver Spring YMCA
July 12 - Pilates, Bowen YMCA
July 26 - Hip Hop Dance
Aug 1 - Family Zumba, SS YMCA

Sept 13 - Mindfulness Meditation

Second Fridays Outdoor Concert Series
Location: Outdoor lower level plaza at the Reservoir Park Recreation Center
This summer, join us on the second Friday of each month to enjoy a free outdoor concert curated by our partner Yellow Door Music! Offering a variety of music styles and performances, this series is designed to support community engagement and cultural enrichment through the multifaceted musical genres and artists. Bring a chair and/or picnic and spend a relaxing evening listening to music with neighbors and friends.
The following Fridays from 6-8pm (weather permitting):
- June 12 – Adrian Duke and The Rascality: A pianist, singer and songwriter who blends soulful blues, New Orleans funk, jazz and more.
- July 10 – Tobago Bay Calypso: A DC Caribbean band with sounds from the islands, this group features traditional calypso, soca, Latin, reggae, jazz and pop.
- August 14 - Taisha Estrada: Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Taisha Estrada blends Latin styles with jazz, R&B and pop.
- September 11 - Nasim Siddeeq: A soulful R&B singer and guitarist with a signature sound that is equal parts groove, heart and authenticity.
Reservoir Recess: Family Field Day
When: Saturday, August 1 (weather permitting)
Time: 12–4pm
Location: In the park adjacent to the Reservoir Park Recreation Center
Join us for a lively and joy-filled afternoon designed with families in mind. Reservoir Recess brings together playful activities, music and community connection. Enjoy field day-style lawn games, arts and crafts, pop-up performances and more – the ultimate playdate for all ages!
Summer Ice Cream Socials
When: Fridays, June 19 & August 21 (weather permitting)
Time: 5:30-7pm
Location: Lower Service Court
Bring the whole family and beat the heat with complimentary scoops, tasty toppings, and good vibes as we celebrate the sunny season with neighbors and friends.
History Walking Tour
Date and Time: TBD

Want to learn more about the site’s past as a sand filtration site and how the historic features have been incorporated into Reservoir District? Reservoir District is a public-private partnership between the District of Columbia and Vision McMillan Partners, which includes EYA (townhomes), Jair Lynch Real Estate Partners (apartments and retail), and Trammell Crow Company (healthcare and retail). Mayor Bowser and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development led the development of the Reservoir Park Recreation Center and park space.
