This year, the second annual summer event series is taking place at Reservoir District. A community-focused, family-friendly celebration of music, culture, history and more, this free seasonal event series offers live performances, workout and wellness classes, family fun days, history tour and more. This engaging public programming lineup is designed to bring neighbors and District residents together to enjoy the outdoor spaces at Reservoir District.
Below is a recap of some of the events so far this summer at Reservoir District.
Ice Cream Socials
A favorite among adults, kids and four-legged friends, the Friday afternoon ice cream socials were a hit! Along with complimentary scoops, guests enjoyed a live DJ and getting to know neighbors and new friends.
Reservoir Recess: Family Field Day
Reservoir Recess brought together playful activities, music and community connection. Guests enjoyed field day-style lawn games, arts and crafts, pop-up performances and more – the ultimate playdate for all ages!
Second Fridays Outdoor Concert Series
This summer, the second Friday of each month features a free outdoor concert at Reservoir District curated by our partner Yellow Door Music. Offering a variety of music styles and performances, this series is designed to support community engagement and cultural enrichment through the multifaceted musical genres and artists.
Reservoir Recharge: Wellness Weekends
This series of wellness events offers a lineup of free community activities curated by Whitney Stringer Wellness Events. From Pilates to yoga and family dance parties to mindful meditation, the series is designed to encourage self-care, promote healthy lifestyles and support neighborly connections. Led by small businesses, non-profits and emerging local health and wellness professionals, these activities offer something for everyone.

The summer isn't over yet! There is still time to attend events at Reservoir District including:
- September 11: Outdoor Concert - Nasim Siddeeq: A soulful R&B singer and guitarist with a signature sound that is equal parts groove, heart and authenticity.
- September 13: Wellness Class - Deep breathing session for stress management and well-being led by YMCA, Anthony Bowen.
- September 27: Workout Class - Energizing strength-building full body workout with Sweat DC.
- November TBC: History Tour - Want to learn more about Reservoir District's past as a sand filtration site and how the historic features have been incorporated into the neighborhood? Then join us for a history walking tour as we explore the history of this DC landmark.

Reservoir District is a public-private partnership between the District of Columbia and Vision McMillan Partners, which includes EYA (townhomes), Jair Lynch Real Estate Partners (apartments and retail), and Trammell Crow Company (healthcare and retail). Mayor Bowser and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development led the development of the Reservoir Park Recreation Center and park space.
