Reservoir District is a vibrant new neighborhood in central D.C. Situated at the location of the former McMillan Sand Filtration Site along N. Capitol Street, Reservoir District is revitalizing this historic site with modern new spaces to live, work and play, while incorporating the legacy into the design of the new community.

The townhome exteriors were designed to complement the preserved historic structures (sand silos, regulator houses and oversized gates throughout the site) and feature beautiful white brick facades.

The Washington Post article quotes an EYA homebuyer who said:

“I walk the park frequently and have been interested in the development based on my proximity to it,” said Rodriguez, who is a lobbyist. “I moved to D.C. from the Phoenix, Arizona, area and everything out there is kind of new, especially in comparison to D.C. So what I really appreciate about this development is that they are trying to keep some of the old and mix in the new.”

The 25-acre site will include new townhomes (by EYA), apartments, neighborhood retail and grocery store (by Jair Lynch), and center for healthcare and research (by Trammell Crow), as well as the now open District of Columbia Reservoir Park Recreation Center and 6-acres of park space. The site also features beautifully preserved historic structures such as sand filtration silos and regulator buildings along the restored Service Court.
