On Friday, thousands of DMV residents celebrated Bike to Work Day by ditching their cars and opting for a greener, healthier commute. A number of our EYA team members are dedicated bike (or scooter!) commuters themselves and regularly take the trails to work. Thousands of DC commuters are gearing up to pedal to work this Friday, May 20th, in honor of Bike to Work Day. This free annual event encourages the business community to come together in support of a healthy, fun, and environmentally friendly way to get to work. With nearly 100 pit stops, local events, and even pop-up bike lanes, Bike to Work Day (BTWD) offers first-time cyclists a fun and supportive alternate way to travel to and from the office.

The greater DC metro area has a vast array of incredible walking/biking trails. From the scenic Mount Vernon Trail winding along the Potomac River to the leafy Capital Crescent Trail connecting Georgetown to Bethesda, there are many popular trails that provide endless recreation for cyclists and pedestrians and vital paths for commuters who bike to work.

This weekend, thousands of commuters across the globe will choose to take alternate forms of transportation to get where they need to go for World Car Free Day. While World Car Free Day is technically this Sunday, September 22nd, Commuter Connections is challenging DC metro area residents and commuters to participate from Saturday, September 21st through Monday, September 23rd.
