When we heard that one of our Robinson Landing homeowners had founded the ALX Dog Walk to not only raise awareness about sustainable living and reducing plastic use, but also to raise funds to beautify the City of Alexandria and protect its environment, we knew we wanted to learn more and support her efforts. EYA proudly sponsored the 2022 inaugural dog walk, and we’re excited to sponsor the second annual walk on April 29, 2023 in Oronoco Bay Park in Old Town Alexandria (you can register here). And, we have been so impressed with her work that we wanted to share her story. This weekend kicks off a series of waterfront events at Robinson Landing in Old Town Alexandria. Fun for the entire family, the events will be held on the promenade and pier, and include activities ranging from live music, fitness classes, a family festival and an archeology event in partnership with the City of Alexandria’s Office of Historic Alexandria. Thousands of DC commuters are gearing up to pedal to work this Friday, May 20th, in honor of Bike to Work Day. This free annual event encourages the business community to come together in support of a healthy, fun, and environmentally friendly way to get to work. With nearly 100 pit stops, local events, and even pop-up bike lanes, Bike to Work Day (BTWD) offers first-time cyclists a fun and supportive alternate way to travel to and from the office.
