On Friday, October 3rd, EYA team members gathered on the green of Four Mile Run Park & Playground in Alexandria, VA for EYA Foundation’s annual Day of Service. This year, EYA teamed up with RunningBrooke and the City of Alexandria, Virginia Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities.
The mornings are turning crisp, the leaves are tinted golden, and you can almost taste the cinnamon and pumpkin flavored pastries on display at your favorite coffee shop. As sweater weather begins and we transition from summer to autumn, Old Town Alexandria embraces more than just the change in weather. With charming brick homes framed by auburn and amber colored trees, the city itself seems like it was designed for the season.
There is no doubt that Alexandrians love dogs. A quick stroll down the sidewalks of Old Town, and you’ll see shops, artisans, and restaurant owners have left an assortment of water bowls and biscuit jars outside their doorsteps, welcoming dogs to take a break, and sometimes even to come inside.
No one celebrates summer quite like Old Town. From festivals and fireworks shows to riverside beer gardens and themed cruises on the Potomac, the season is just getting started. This July, the arrival of the much-anticipated Tall Ship Providence kicks off a month full of fun and exciting local events in Old Town.
