EYA plans to build up to 177 townhomes, 12.5 percent of which will be affordable housing. Federal Realty’s improvements to the existing retail and office space on the balance of the property will benefit from positive connectivity to future residents, creating a dynamic and authentic neighborhood offering a mix of uses.

EYA, Bozzuto and the Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC) announce they have closed on construction financing for the Hurston, located at EYA’s Westside at Shady Grove Metro (Westside), a transit-oriented, mixed-use neighborhood in Rockville adjacent to the Shady Grove Metro Station. The Hurston is a mixed-use and mixed-income apartment building that marks the latest phase of the 45-acre development. Once complete, the 7-story building will feature 21,000 square feet of street-level retail and 7,400 square feet of office space with 268 amenity-rich apartments above – 81 of which are designated as affordable housing units.

The incredible archaeology finds discovered at Robinson Landing in Old Town Alexandria were recently featured on NBC News4. Greg Griffin, EYA Multifamily Construction Vice President, and Eleanor Breen, Alexandria City Archaeologist, joined News4's Megan McGrath on a walking tour of the site to share the story of the discoveries. These included three ship hulls, building foundations and nearly 150,000 artifacts such as coins and dishware dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries.
