Ho, ho, ho! Santa will arrive early this year for more than 1,300 Alexandria families, and we're hoping to fill his sleigh (or fire truck, in this case) with enough gifts for all the children. On December 21st, the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority's (ARHA) will host its annual Children's Party at the Charles Houston Recreation Center across the street from EYA's Old Town Commons new townhouse community. Every year, EYA holds a toy drive to help make the party a success.
Interested in donating? You can drop off unwrapped children's gifts to our Sales Center at 735 N. Alfred Street now through December 20th. We are open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Last year, ARHA Executive Director Roy Priest explained, “This is just a way to try to do something really special to show children that there are a lot of caring adults in the community who want to make sure they have a good Christmas." At the party, children can make crafts, decorate cookies, play games and enjoy other holiday-related festivities.
In advance, we at EYA thank you for any contributions you can provide and hope that you enjoy your first (or second!) holiday season in your new Old Town Commons townhome.
